Kris is from Dawson, Georgia (the same birthplace as Otis Redding). He went through school there, played a little football but spent most of his time practicing as class clown. He started hanging out at the local radio station, and became such an annoyance they gave him a job. At 15, he had his own radio show and has been in broadcasting ever since. Kris's first race, start to finish, was in 1994, when he attended Darlington with some friends. Since then, he rarely misses watching a race. He joined FOX61 in 2007 for Racing Tonight. He says it was, "exciting to co-host a show that focuses on a sport that I love such as NASCAR."
