Couple Gets Married in Strip Club

A British couple has become the first in the country to get married at a strip club.

The Metro reports that Phil Wharam, 50, and his bride Lynfa Lawson, 46, said "I do" before 120 guests at Katz Gentleman Club in Basildon, Essex, in the UK.

"We are just making use of our very good facilities," manager Dean Kayne told the Metro.

The Sun writes that Katz applied for license to hold weddings at its venue in August after Wharam and Lawson fell in love there. Kayne said he believes he's filling a need in the marketplace.

"What we are trying to do here is change people's blinkered view of our establishment," he said.

The British lifestyle Web site Tiscali lists several other unique places people can get married. At the Absolut Icebar in London couples walk down an aisle made of ice in a subzero environment. Or people can do the "wing walk" and get married on the wing of an airplane.
