(MYFOX NATIONAL) - An injury suffered in a car accident two years ago has left a 39-year-old mother of two in New Mexico constantly craving sex.
Joleen Baughman becomes sexually aroused by the slightest movement -- while vacuuming, sitting on a bus, bending over, or even simply walking across a room, according to The Telegraph .
The accident damaged a nerve in Baughman's pelvis which controls desire. She slowly recovered at home after the 2007 collision, but six months later, she began suffering the unexpected side effect.
"It's unbearable. Just my clothes rubbing against me gets me so aroused I can hardly think straight," Baughman explained. "It's very embarrassing and it's impossible to concentrate."
Baughman has been diagnosed with a rare condition called Restless Genital Syndrome, also known as Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome .
Initially Baughman and her husband of 20 years Brian were ecstatic about her new found sex drive, but it has turned into a problem.
"I was delighted. I thought: 'Finally I'm getting a sex drive and I can give my husband what he wants,'" she said. But she soon discovered that having sex could not cure her urges and that it was painful.
A woman in Australia who suffers from the same medical condition, where she experiences 300 orgasms a day, met a man that she loves and that can keep up with her , after a number of failed relationships.
Last month, a 59-year-old woman suffered a bout of TGA, or transient global amnesia, which caused her to forget that she had sex with her husband . Earlier this year, scientists said they had developed a way of turning ordinary males and females into sex gods and goddesses by genetically altering fruit flies.
