Official Contest Rules
How to enter: To enter the contest, an entrant should arrive at The Colonnade on July 9th, 2010 at 10:30AM and fill out the entry form to enter the contest. FOX61 WDSI TV assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected entries or human errors that may occur. All entries become the property of FOX61 WDSI TV and will not be returned.
Selection of Winners: A maximum of two hundred (200) eligible contestants will be allowed to audition. Should there be fewer than 200 contestants total the number of contestants moving into the following rounds will decrease based on the total number. Round 1 performance begins immediately. In Round 1 all contestants will be given 30 seconds to sing a cappella. After Round 1 the top 100 will sing again, for 30 seconds, in front of all 4 judges. After Round 2 the top 25 will sing for Round 3 and will be pared down to the top 10 for Round 4. In Round 4 the top 10 will be given 1 minute to sing a cappella. The top 10 will be pared down to the top 3, and those 3 will sing in the final round for the grand prize. The final 3 score will be a combination of the Round 4 score and the final performance to determine the winner. The winner of the 2011 FOX61's Chattanooga Idol will be guaranteed an audition with an American Idol producer at the American Idol 11 Audition in Charleston, S.C. on July 22nd, 2011. With respect to the 2011 FOX61's Chattanooga Idol contest, one winner will be declared from all finalists. Winner must execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, and Public Release and any other document that FOX61 WDSI TV may require. Failure to execute any required documentation shall result in immediate forfeiture of the prize and the prize will transfer to the runner-up. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Prizes: One winner will be awarded a prize in this contest. The opportunity to audition in front of American Idol producers at the American Idol 11 audition in Charleston, S.C. FOX61 and Hits 96 will provide air fare and hotel for the winner only, unless the winner is a minor. Guests of winner and transportation in Charleston are the responsibility of the winner. Should the winner continue to audition past Charleston, S.C all travel expenses are the responsibility of the winner and not FOX61 or Hits 96. No substitution, transfer, or assignment of any prizes is permitted other than a substitution by FOX61 WDSI TV. Prizes can not be exchanged or redeemed for cash. Some restrictions apply.
Eligibility: This contest is open to legal residents of the United States. To be eligible, a valid entry must be submitted the day of the contest. A valid entry must include all information required on the entry form. You must be a legal U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident who is eligible to work full-time in the Unites States. You must be 15 to 28 years old on June 26, 2011 (which means you must be born on or between June 27, 1982 and June 26, 1996). If you were born before or after this window, you are not eligible to participate this season.
This contest is void where prohibited by law. Employees of FOX61 WDSI TV and its respective affiliates, their respective immediate family members, and personnel of other TV stations whose broadcast signals are received in the Chattanooga Tennessee designated market, personnel of WDOD AM/FM Radio, and The Colonnade, are not eligible to enter or win. . In regards to American Idol 11 eligibility you are ineligible if, as of the date of your audition, you have any type of contract for talent representation (for example, at talent agent or manager), a music recording contract, an acting contract, a merchandising agreement, or any other contractual arrangement that would prohibit you from entering into a management contract, recording contract, talent contract, acting contract and/or merchandising contract. You are ineligible if you are the past winner of FOX61's Chattanooga Idol, or have won any contest with FOX61, The CW Chattanooga that included a paid trip. You are ineligible if you progressed in any previous season of American Idol to any of the following levels: Season 1 top 30, season 2 top 32, season 3 top 36, season 4 top 44, season 5 top 44, season 6 top 40, season 7 top 24, season 8 top 36, and season 9 top 24, and Season 10 top 24. You are ineligible if you are a past winner of FOX61's Chattanooga Idol or won FOX61's The X Factor Audition PASS Contest with Hits 96.
You are ineligible if you, or any member of your immediate family and/or anyone living in your household, is an employee, officer, director, agent and/or representative of Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Interactive Media, Inc., American Idol Productions, Inc., FremantleMedia North America, Inc., 19 TV Limited., CKX, Inc., AT&T Mobility, LLC, Telescope, Inc., Coca-Cola, the Ford Motor Company, Sony/BMG, Bahakel Broadcasting, New Age Media, MPS Media, The Colonnade, or personnel of any other media in the Chattanooga DMA, production personnel for the television program, participating television stations, advertising agencies, corporate sponsors or any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the auditions, or any of the parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives of any of the foregoing entities.
General Conditions: Contest entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of FOX61 WDSI TV, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this contest. This contest is governed by the laws of the United States. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. All taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. Prizes will be awarded and winners will be notified at the end of the contest. The inability to notify or contact a winner, the non responsiveness of a winner, or the winner's failure to accept the prize ay result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner, assuming FOX61 WDSI TV has, in its sole discretion, sufficient time to select an alternate winner. Winners will be required to pick up prizes at FOX61 WDSI or on location. By entering, each entrant concedes to and grants FOX61 WDSI TV and WDOD AM/FM Radio the right to use, publish or broadcast, without additional compensation, the entrant's voice, name and likeness online, in print, via broadcast and in any other media in connection with the contest. FOX61 WDSI TV makes no warranty, representation, or agreement that any videotape, audiotape, or likeness of a winner will be broadcast or other wise used in any manner. By entering, participants, on their own behalf and on behalf of their family members, dependents, friends, relatives, heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, release and hold harmless FOX61 WDSI TV, FOX Broadcasting Company, News America, Inc., FOX Interactive Media, FremantleMedia North America,Inc., American Idol Productions, Inc., 19 TV Ltd., 19 Merchandising Ltd., CKX, Inc., WDOD AM/FM Radio, The Colonnade, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each its affiliates, directors, officers, stockholders, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this contest or any prize won.

What to Bring to the Auditions:
Two forms of ID are required at registration that show proof of your age and a photograph (for example, a birth certificate and driver's license or a birth certificate and a passport or a birth certificate and a school ID card).
If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or legal guardian must accompany you. If a legal guardian accompanies you, your legal guardian must bring proof of guardianship. Contestants Under 18 Years of Age: If you are under 18 years of age on the day you register and/or audition, you parent and/or legal guardian MUST accompany you to the registration and auditions. In addition, you partn or legal guardian must bring a government issues photo ID (for example, a driver's license or passport). If you are accompanied by a legal guardian, as opposed to a parent, your legal guardian must bring proof of guardianship (for example, a court order). If your parent or legal guardian is not available to accompany you to the registration and audition, your parent or legal guardian may appoint a guardian to accompany to the registration and audition process. YOUR APPOINTED GUARDIAN MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE AND MUST ACCOMPANY YOU TO THE VENUE FOR THE REGISTRATION AND AUDITION DAYS. In order to appoint a guardian, your parent or legal guardian must complete, sign and have NOTARIZED the Guardian and Medical Authorization for Minors form which can be found at the our website www.americanidol.com. Your parent or legal guardian must also sign and have NOTARIZED the release for the day (for the release you will need to contact rfrank@fox61tv.com no later than 2 days prior to July 9th, 2011). You MUST bring the signed and notarized Release with to the audition, along with you appointed guardian. You appointed guardian must also bring a government issued ID (for example, a driver's license or passport) to the registration and the audition.
What to Sing at the Auditions: Be prepared to sing a cappella (without music) a song of your choice. You should be aware that all rules and procedures are subject to change at the producer's discretions.
Paperwork: You will be required to fill out, sign, and agree to all of the terms and conditions of our required forms. If you advance in the competition, you may be required to fill out, sign and agree to all of the terms and conditions of additional forms. If you are under 18 years of age, both you and your parent or legal guardian must sign each of the forms and cooperate in having the forms court approved, if requested by producer.
ALL FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND TRUTHFULLY. IF YOU FAIL TO COMPLETE ANY FORM, GIVE ANY FALSE INFORMATION, OR FAIL TO REVEAL PERTINENT INFORMATION, YOU MAY BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE AUDITION PROCESS.
Disqualifications: We reserve the right to disqualify and/or exclude, in our sole and absolute discretion, any individual from any of the auditions for any reason or for no reason at all, including without limitation, violation of any portion of these rules, or tampering with the entry process or the audition process. We also reserve the right to change the rules and procedures at any time. Being chosen to audition and/or compete at any level in the process does NOT ensure that you will be selected to continue to the next stage. Any contestant, or anyone acting on behalf of a contest found guilty of contacting a judge, and/or sponsor of the 2011 FOX61 Chattanooga Idol with the intent to tamper with the judging process will be terminated from the contest.
