Fifth Quarter Host: Chris Goforth

Chris Goforth:

Chris Goforth is a Jasper, Tennessee native and a graduate of both Marion County High School and UTC.

A life long fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Chris grew up rooting for Tony Dorsett and Ed "Too Tall" Jones.  Legend has it, as a child, he burst into tears whenever his beloved Cowboys lost.  Chris cried a lot in the 1980's.  At the age of 11, Chris realized he was never going to play running back for the Cowboys or play right field for his other favorite team, the Atlanta Braves so he dreamed of being a television sports anchor.  His sports media influences include his friend and mentor, long time Chattanooga area sports anchor Randy Smith and the "Voice of the Lookouts" Larry Ward, the late Bill "Nasty" Nash along with radio legend "Luther".  Like every other kid in east Tennessee, he turned down the sound on the TV and turned up the radio to hear John Ward bring Neyland Stadium to life on Saturday's in the fall.

2011 will mark his 16th season doing high school football play by play in southeast Tennessee.  Over that time, Chris has been lucky enough to broadcast three state championship games and has witnessed some of the greatest players in the area.  He's broadcast six SEC Women's Basketball Tournaments, two Southern Conference Basketball Tournaments and was the play by play voice for the Chattanooga Lady Mocs from 1995-1999.  He has also served as host of "Inside Lady Mocs Basketball" the coach's TV show for the Lady Mocs from 2008-2011.   Chris has also worked as an analyst on the FCS Game of the Week, the only national radio broadcast of the Football Championship Subdivision.  A self proclaimed college football junkie, Chris spends his weekday afternoons hosting "The Show with Chris Goforth" on Fox Sports Radio 1370.
