in partnership with
THE BRIDE: Gina, 27, a kindergarten teacher at The Ogden International School of Chicago
THE GROOM: Mark, 27, a chemical engineer at Crown Cork & Seal
THE DATE: August 7
Gina and Mark came up with a city-meets-country theme to incorporate both of their roots. She hails from the Chicago suburbs, and he grew up on a farm. A color palette of blue and green felt fresh and summery.
The Escort Cards
The cards themselves were tented, with a double ring design to symbolize wedding bands.
The Location
Cafe Brauer's beautiful hardwood floors, exposed-brick walls, chandeliers and outdoor terraces created the perfect mix of city and rustic. The couple kept the tables simple, with low florals and pale-green linens.
The Bridesmaid Bouquets
The bridesmaids carried green bouquets of hydrangeas, lisianthus, spider mums and tea roses, with some blue hydrangeas mixed in.
The Cake
Dark-ivory fondant with an off-white fondant lace covering decorated the top and bottom tiers, while a fondant swag wrapped the middle one. A silver sugar flower completed the look.
