Another local city implemented a plan to squash gang activity and it seems to have worked. Just five years ago, gangs had their grip on Dalton. In 2007, Andre Johnson, a Catamounts sports star, was shot to death while riding with friends. Dalton Police Chief Jason Parker describes the teen's murder as the city's tipping point. The next week, police made a list of 100 gang members. Then literally adopted them by showing up at their home.
