We're still fighting them today, but a federal team was put in place almost 20 years ago to combat gangs in Chattanooga. The Safe Streets Task Force began with nine members back in 1993. It was part of a national program. One member was Wayne Jackson, now retired from the FBI. Other members included Chattanooga police officers and Hamilton County deputies. Jackson says he's watched the gang members get younger and the gangs themselves get larger.
