At city council Tuesday, members approved funding for an assessment about gangs. The vote was seven to two. The city will pay the Ochs Center up to $75,000 to perform a comprehensive gang assessment. The study is required as part of a federal program called the Comprehensive Gang Model. The study will look at data from across the community to learn more about why gangs exist and where they are concentrated.
